Sat May 03 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## RCB Post Huge Total Against CSK Despite Rain Threat
**Bengaluru, May 3rd, 2025** – The 52nd match of IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru saw RCB post a massive total despite the threat of rain. CSK, winning the toss, opted to bowl first.
RCB made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Lungis Ngidi for Josh Hazlewood. CSK remained unchanged. The match started under a cloudy sky with a possibility of rain throughout the game, a situation that could significantly impact RCB’s playoff hopes as they currently sit third with 14 points while CSK is out of contention at the bottom of the table with only 4 points.
Despite the looming rain, RCB batsmen put on a spectacular display. A late flourish in the final two overs, which yielded 54 runs, propelled RCB to a massive 213/5 in their 20 overs. Tim David remained unbeaten on 2 while Romario Shepherd smashed a quickfire 53*, the duo adding a quick 56 runs off just 15 balls. Khaleel Ahmed had a particularly rough outing, conceding 33 runs in a single over including 4 sixes and 2 fours, with Shepherd himself scoring 33 runs off just 9 deliveries.
Earlier, Virat Kohli (62) and Jacob Bethel (54) provided a strong start, but Kohli’s dismissal shifted the momentum slightly. However, Shepherd’s explosive hitting ensured RCB finished with a challenging total.
The match is still ongoing and the threat of rain remains. Further updates will be provided as the match progresses.
