Fri May 02 23:10:00 UTC 2025: **Dallas Wings to Tip Off Preseason Against Las Vegas Aces in Notre Dame Homecoming**
**South Bend, IN (May 1, 2025)** – The Dallas Wings will begin their 2025 preseason with a highly anticipated matchup against the Las Vegas Aces at the University of Notre Dame’s Purcell Pavilion on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. The game, airing nationally on ION and streaming on WNBA League Pass, marks a homecoming for three former Notre Dame stars now playing in the WNBA: Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale and Aces guards Jewell Loyd and Jackie Young.
The game will showcase the dramatically revamped Dallas Wings. The team underwent a significant offseason overhaul, including changes in front office leadership, coaching staff, and roster. WNBA veteran Curt Miller was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager, and he hired Chris Koclanes as head coach. Miller aggressively rebuilt the roster, adding free agents DiJonai Carrington, NaLyssa Smith, Myisha Hines-Allen, and Ty Harris to a core including returning players Ogunbowale, Teaira McCowan, and Maddy Siegrist. The Wings also made a splash in the 2025 WNBA Draft, selecting Paige Bueckers first overall, along with several other promising players.
This preseason game will be the unofficial debut for Koclanes, whose coaching experience spans both the WNBA and Division I women’s basketball. It will also mark the first appearance for the Wings’ impressive draft class, led by Bueckers. The matchup features a coaching connection as well; Koclanes and Aces coach Becky Hammon both worked under Wings GM Curt Miller earlier in their careers.
The Wings are also expanding their local broadcast reach, tripling their television footprint to bring free games to 6.3 million households across 12 markets. The team’s official hashtag for the 2025 season is #WingsUp, celebrating their 10th season in North Texas and aiming to continue their playoff success.
