**New Delhi, May 3, 2025** – In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized drugs worth ₹547 crore and arrested 15 individuals, the Union Home Ministry announced late Friday. The Amritsar Zonal Unit conducted a four-month-long operation spanning four states to dismantle a large drug cartel.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s office hailed the operation as a “giant stride towards building a drug-free India,” aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. This significant seizure follows a separate incident where 300 kg of drugs worth ₹1,800 crore were seized off the coast of Gujarat.
