Fri May 02 22:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Miracle Cat Survives 400-Foot Bryce Canyon Cliff Fall
**KANAB, Utah (KUTV)** — A 12-year-old tabby cat named Mirage has miraculously survived a nearly 400-foot fall from Bryce Canyon’s Inspiration Point, a fall that tragically claimed the lives of two people. Mirage was found alive in a carrier next to the bodies of Matthew Nannen, 45, and Bailee Crane, 58, who fell over the railing on Tuesday, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Despite the significant drop, Mirage sustained only minor injuries. Initially taken to a Panguitch boarding facility, she was later transferred to the Best Friends Animal Society sanctuary in Kanab. While matted and sore, staff report the cat is alert, friendly, and eating and drinking normally. Bloodwork has come back normal, with X-rays pending to check for potential broken ribs or other internal injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
