**Chennai, May 3, 2025** – AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu on Saturday, highlighting the AIADMK’s alliance with the BJP for the 2026 state assembly elections. Palaniswami claimed Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s reaction to the alliance indicated frustration and “election fever.” He asserted that the AIADMK’s alliance was a strategic move to strengthen its position against the DMK and that more parties would join their coalition.
Palaniswami accused the DMK of lacking principles and prioritizing power, citing its past alliances with both the BJP and Congress. He further criticized the DMK’s performance over the past four years, claiming a lack of significant schemes for the poor and marginalized, and highlighting the appointment of Udhayanidhi Stalin as Deputy Chief Minister as an example of dynastic politics.
The AIADMK leader also cited deteriorating law and order, increased electricity tariffs, property tax, and registration fees as failures of the DMK government. He concluded by stating that the people of Tamil Nadu are eagerly awaiting the DMK’s removal from power.
