**Chennai, May 2, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government has formed a three-member search committee to identify the next Vice-Chancellor for the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. The committee comprises Aruna Jagadeesan, a retired judge of the Madras High Court (government nominee); S. Sachidhanandham, a former Vice-Chancellor of the university and former professor at the National Law University, New Delhi (syndicate nominee); and V. Vijayakumar, another former Vice-Chancellor of the Dr. Ambedkar Law University and former head of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (academic senate nominee).
According to a gazette notification, the committee will convene at the university to select a shortlist of three candidates. This list, along with the candidates’ biographical data, will then be submitted to the Tamil Nadu government for final approval.
