Fri May 02 16:02:24 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka SSLC Exam Results Show Significant Improvement

**Bengaluru, May 2, 2025** – The Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) annual exam results, released Friday, show a significant 8.34 percentage point increase compared to last year. The overall pass percentage climbed to 62.34%, up from 54% in 2024 (later adjusted to 73% with grace marks). This year, grace marks were not awarded except as per examination ordinance.

A total of 524,984 students passed the exam out of 842,173 who appeared. Remarkably, 75% of those who passed achieved first-class or distinction. Twenty-two students, including two from government schools, scored a perfect 625/625, emerging as state toppers. Bengaluru students dominated the top ranks, with seven achieving perfect scores in individual subjects.

The improvement is attributed to several factors, according to School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa. He cited the completion of the syllabus by December, followed by intensive revision and special classes facilitated by free electricity provided to schools. The minister also praised the efforts of Zilla Panchayat CEOs in monitoring the SSLC classes. He specifically thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his insistence on classroom learning and the decision against awarding grace marks.

Dakshina Kannada secured the top district ranking with a 91.12% pass rate, surpassing Udupi which held the top spot last year. Yadgir district showed substantial progress, rising from the bottom to 33rd position, while Kalaburagi and Vijayapura experienced a decline in rankings.
