**Pomona, CA** – The Los Angeles County Fair opens its gates on Friday, May 2nd, promising a month-long celebration of “Art Unleashed.” This year’s event, spanning 500 acres at Fairplex in Pomona, marks a significant expansion from its humble beginnings in 1922. The fair runs through May 26th and features a wide array of attractions.

Food lovers can indulge in over 150 food vendors offering classic fair fare and exciting new creations like the meatball corndog and hot honey chicken ice cream bowl. Music enthusiasts will enjoy a diverse concert series featuring rock, R&B, reggae, Latin, and country acts, alongside the “World’s Largest Indie Music Festival,” NextFest. Local school bands, orchestras, and choirs will also take the stage in a dedicated performing arts showcase.

Thrill-seekers can experience over 40 carnival rides, including four new additions: the Royal Wheel Ferris wheel and Heidi the rollercoaster. Returning favorites include the Big Red Barn petting zoo, the Garden Railroad, and the Silent Disco.

This year’s fair emphasizes art collaborations with local institutions. The Getty Museum, Music Center, Center Theater Group, and Bob Baker Marionettes will all present special programs and performances. LACMA will curate an exhibit at the Millard Sheets Art Center for the third consecutive year.
