**Centralia, IL –** Kaskaskia College (KC) recognized outgoing student trustee Connor Wademan and welcomed Meagan Mahlandt as the new student trustee during Monday night’s board meeting. Wademan, a 2023 Carlyle High School graduate, received a proclamation from Board Chairman Bill Hawley, acknowledging his dedicated service throughout the past year.
College President George Evans praised Wademan’s professionalism and commitment, highlighting his active participation and genuine interest in understanding the college’s operations. Wademan plans to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) to pursue a pre-dental program, ultimately aiming to become a dentist in the region.
Mahlandt, a 2024 graduate of Centralia High School, was sworn in as the new student trustee. Currently pursuing an associate’s degree in engineering science at KC, she cited a positive experience at a Student Advisory Committee meeting with other Illinois community college student trustees as inspiration for her candidacy. She is also involved with Student Congress and the Engineering Club at KC and plans to continue her education at SIUE, majoring in mechanical engineering. Both Wademan and Mahlandt’s dedication to their studies and community involvement demonstrate a bright future for Kaskaskia College.
