**Ahmedabad, India** – Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has attributed his impressive wicket-taking performance in IPL 2025 to the use of saliva on the ball. Krishna, currently sitting near the top of the Purple Cap standings with 16 wickets from 8 matches, explained that the increased shine achieved using saliva creates a chain reaction, particularly in the crucial final overs. This enhanced swing and seam movement leads to more dot balls and wickets, ultimately slowing down the run rate and shifting momentum in favor of the bowlers.

The impact is evident in the lower number of 200+ totals this season (9) compared to last year’s 21. Krishna believes even a slight increase in the ball’s movement due to saliva makes a significant difference in the game’s outcome. “If you look at what the ball does with saliva, even one extra ball that tears a little more can mean an extra wicket or a dot ball,” he stated in a press conference. “At crucial stages, this can slow the run rate and change the game’s momentum.”
