Fri May 02 15:10:00 UTC 2025: **Gujarat Titans Dominate Powerplay, Build Strong Total Against Sunrisers Hyderabad**

Ahmedabad, India – Gujarat Titans (GT) put on a dominant display in their IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. Winning the toss, SRH opted to bowl first. GT made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Gerald Coetzee for Karim Janat. SRH remained unchanged.

The GT openers, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, set the tone with a blistering powerplay, smashing 82 runs without losing a wicket. Sudharsan contributed a quickfire 48 off 23 balls before being dismissed, but not before he and Gill had forged an 87-run partnership. Gill continued the onslaught, reaching a 25-ball fifty before eventually falling for a well-played 76 off 38 balls (10 fours, 2 sixes).

Despite Gill’s dismissal, GT continued to score freely. At the 15-over mark, they had amassed a strong total of 162 runs for the loss of two wickets. At the close of play, GT reached 188/2 in 17 overs.

SRH’s bowling attack struggled to contain the GT batsmen, particularly in the powerplay. While they managed to pick up wickets, the damage had already been done. The strong start provided by Sudharsan and Gill proved to be the foundation for GT’s imposing total. The match continues.

The game is crucial for both teams. SRH, currently ninth in the standings with three wins from nine matches, need a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. GT, currently fourth with six wins, are in a stronger position but still need to secure more wins to solidify their place in the playoffs.
