NEW YORK, NY – April 26, 2024 – Sony Interactive Entertainment today announced *Ghost of Yōtei*, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed *Ghost of Tsushima*, launching on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025. The new game features a fresh story and protagonist, Atsu, who embarks on a quest for vengeance against the Yōtei Six, a gang of outlaws responsible for her family’s murder sixteen years prior.
Set in the Ezo region of Japan (present-day Hokkaido), *Ghost of Yōtei* will allow players to explore a vast and stunning open world, hunting down members of the Yōtei Six in any order they choose. Beyond the core revenge plot, Atsu will forge new alliances and discover a deeper purpose throughout her journey. New gameplay mechanics will offer glimpses into Atsu’s past, enriching the narrative experience.
The game will feature enhanced open-world exploration, with expanded freedom and options. Players can track bounties, learn new skills from weapon senseis, and encounter both danger and tranquility across the diverse landscape. A new campfire mechanic will allow players to rest anywhere in the open world.
