**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, May 2, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Andhra Pradesh today marked the relaunch of development projects in Amaravati, the state capital. Lanka Dinakar, Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh 20-Point Program and BJP leader, welcomed the Prime Minister, emphasizing Amaravati’s role as a future growth engine for the state.
Dinakar highlighted significant central government investment in Amaravati and surrounding regions, citing ₹15,000 crore in grants and ₹11,000 crore in loans from HUDCO, along with sanctioned funds for a railway line (₹2,500 crore) and an Outer Ring Road (₹20,000 crore). Further investment includes a ₹1.8 lakh crore hydrogen power project in Anakapalli, development of the Vizag Railway zone, Bhogapuram Airport, and a Bulk Drugs Park at Nakkapalli. Central Andhra is also slated to receive a significant boost with a ₹95,000 crore BPCL petro refinery near Ramayapatnam port. The Rayalaseema region will benefit from industrial node development in Kopparthy and Orvakal, as well as tourism investments under the PRASAD and Swadesi Darshan schemes in Nandyal.
The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s “Viksit Bharat” vision and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s “Swarnandra 2047” plan to create a world-class green city in Amaravati. The government’s commitment to Amaravati and other regions of Andhra Pradesh underlines a focus on balanced regional development.
