Belagavi, Karnataka – May 2, 2025 – Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has escalated his feud with fellow Karnataka MLAs, issuing an ultimatum to Minister Shivanand Patil and Congress MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar. Yatnal challenged both men to resign from their Assembly seats and face him in by-elections, vowing to defeat them. He issued a deadline of May 9th, threatening to question their parentage if they fail to comply.
Minister Patil accepted the challenge, submitting his resignation to the Speaker on May 2nd, but with the condition that Yatnal also resigns. Kashappanavar has yet to respond.
