Thu May 01 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistani Senator Threatens to Lay First Brick of Ayodhya Mosque

**New Delhi, India** – Amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a video of Pakistani Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan has gone viral. In a speech delivered on April 29th in Pakistan’s Upper House, Senator Khan made the inflammatory claim that the Pakistan Army would lay the first brick of a new Babri mosque in Ayodhya. She further stated that the army chief would lead the first azaan (Islamic call to prayer).

Senator Khan, the deputy information secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), representing Sindh province, also asserted that Sikh soldiers in the Indian army would not attack Pakistan due to its religious significance. Her statements come as both nations engage in escalating rhetoric and actions following the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

The recent escalation includes repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC), prompting retaliatory responses from the Indian armed forces. India has also implemented several retaliatory measures, including airspace restrictions for Pakistani flights, staff reductions at the Pakistan High Commission, and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. Pakistan has responded in kind, threatening to withdraw from the Shimla Agreement and other bilateral accords. The situation remains highly volatile.
