**NEW DELHI** – India has issued a strong warning to Pakistan following a series of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border, escalating tensions further after last week’s deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
The warning came after a hotline conversation between the two countries’ directors general of military operations. Pakistan’s actions, including late-night firing in the Pargawal sector, followed earlier ceasefire breaches along the LoC, prompting a firm Indian response.
The heightened tensions follow a terror attack on April 22nd, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists (25 Indian and one Nepali). The Resistance Front, a group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility.
Earlier today, India’s Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, convened to assess the overall security situation in Jammu & Kashmir in light of the attack. Following the attack, both India and Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties and implemented retaliatory measures.
