**NEW YORK, NY** – Netflix is celebrating the cinematic legacy of Alfred Hitchcock this summer with a six-week retrospective at the Paris Theatre in New York City. “HITCH! The Original Cinema Influencer,” running from May 16th to June 29th, will feature 36 Hitchcock films, many shown in 35mm, alongside a dozen related titles that either influenced or were influenced by the Master of Suspense.
The series, co-presented by the New York Film Critics Circle, will showcase Hitchcock’s work from early films like *Blackmail* to classics such as *Psycho*, *The Birds*, *Rear Window*, and *Vertigo*. The program also includes films by directors Hitchcock influenced (like Robert Zemeckis’ *What Lies Beneath*) and those who influenced him (such as Fritz Lang’s *M*).
The retrospective coincides with Netflix adding a selection of Hitchcock films to its streaming service on June 1st. This expanded collection will further explore Hitchcock’s influence on contemporary filmmakers, including works by Jordan Peele (*Us*) and Zach Cregger (*Barbarian*).
Tickets for the Paris Theatre screenings are available now. This extensive celebration promises a comprehensive look at Hitchcock’s career and enduring impact on cinema.
