At least five survivors have come forward, leading to the arrest of four men who allegedly used fake online identities to befriend their victims.

The victims were reportedly coerced into introducing their friends and family to the perpetrators. One survivor, according to police, was first contacted by Farhan Ali in 2022.

Police have recovered private videos and images from the accused’s phones, which were reportedly shared among the perpetrators.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also requested a report from the Bhopal Police Commissioner. The arrests were met with a public display of anger; the accused were heckled by lawyers and paraded in the street before their court appearance. The investigation continues.
