Wed Apr 30 18:43:17 UTC 2025: ## Tamil Nadu BJP Demands Immediate Teacher Appointments
**Chennai, May 1, 2025** – The BJP’s Tamil Nadu state president, Nainar Nagenthran, has urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to immediately fill vacant secondary-grade teacher positions with candidates who have already passed the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) eligibility test. Nagenthran highlighted the detrimental impact of teacher shortages on government school students, arguing that the delay in appointing qualified candidates undermines the quality of education and harms the future of both students and teachers.
He expressed concern for the plight of many qualified candidates, some over 50 years old, who remain unemployed despite passing the test. Nagenthran criticized the DMK government for failing to fulfill its 2021 election promise to fill these vacancies, questioning the purpose of conducting the TRB exams if qualified candidates are not appointed. He accused the government of wasting the time and crushing the hopes of aspiring teachers.
