Thu May 01 00:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Modi to Inaugurate ₹58,000 Crore Worth of Projects in Andhra Pradesh
**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh (May 1, 2025)** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Andhra Pradesh on May 2nd to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for numerous development projects totaling over ₹58,000 crore. The projects span various sectors, including infrastructure, defense, and transportation.
A significant portion of the investment, approximately ₹11,240 crore, will go towards the construction of the Amaravati Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, and other administrative buildings, along with housing for the underprivileged. Further investment will focus on a substantial infrastructure upgrade including a 320-km world-class transport network with underground utilities and advanced flood management systems (₹17,400 crore), and Land Pooling Scheme Infrastructure projects (₹20,400 crore).
In the defense sector, Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new Missile Test Range (MTR) at Nagayalanka, Krishna district, costing approximately ₹1,460 crore. The MTR will significantly enhance India’s defense capabilities.
Transportation improvements will see the inauguration of seven National Highway projects, enhancing road safety and connectivity to key religious and tourist destinations. Railway improvements include the doubling of a rail line between Bugganipalle Cement Nagar and Panyam stations and the construction of a third rail line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada station. Additional railway projects will also be undertaken, including the construction of a rail-over-rail to reduce congestion at Guntakal Junction.
Finally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the PM Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, aiming to promote national integration, support the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and empower rural artisans.
