**Hyderabad, Telangana –** Telangana’s Health Minister, C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, on Wednesday, paid tribute to several senior health officials, recognizing their contributions to the state’s healthcare system. The ceremony honored individuals who either recently retired or were transferred in a recent IAS reshuffle.
Among those lauded were R.V. Karnan, former Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare and Commissioner of Food Safety; Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao, former Managing Director of the Telangana Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC); and V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, recently retired Director General of the Drugs Control Administration (DCA).
Minister Narasimha praised the officials’ dedication, highlighting their work in bolstering public trust in government hospitals. Mr. Kamalasan Reddy received special recognition for his impactful crackdown on counterfeit medicines, earning him praise as a national role model in drug regulation. Mr. Karnan’s efforts in expanding Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) services, including the establishment of numerous dialysis centers, were also celebrated. Despite his shorter tenure of 10 months, Mr. Sahadeorao’s contribution in setting up 21 Central Drug Stores, significantly improving medical logistics, was acknowledged. The Minister emphasized the significant challenges in managing the state’s healthcare needs and lauded the officials’ achievements in strengthening the public health infrastructure.
