Thu May 01 06:10:00 UTC 2025: ## 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Pakistan, No Casualties Reported

**ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN** – A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan late Wednesday, April 30th, at 9:58 PM IST, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). Tremors were felt across the country, prompting some residents to evacuate buildings as a precaution. However, no injuries or damage have been reported.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located at 31.08°N 68.84°E, at a depth of 50 kilometers. This is the third significant earthquake to hit the region in recent weeks. A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck on April 12th, and a 4.4 magnitude quake hit Swat and surrounding areas on April 27th.

Pakistan’s location on the intersection of three major tectonic plates makes it highly susceptible to seismic activity. This latest quake serves as a reminder of the country’s vulnerability to earthquakes, a geological reality that frequently leads to tremors throughout the nation.
