**Vancouver, BC – April 29, 2025** – Excitement for Grand Theft Auto VI is already at fever pitch, and according to a former Rockstar North technical director, Obbe Vermeij, more trailers are unnecessary. In a recent social media post commemorating the 17th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto IV, Vermeij stated that he would forgo any further promotional material for GTA VI, believing the element of surprise will maximize the game’s impact upon release.
This opinion comes despite the game’s only trailer having been released in late 2023. While Rockstar Games has remained largely silent since, publisher Take-Two Interactive reaffirmed a Fall 2025 release date for GTA VI, alongside other major titles. Though Take-Two acknowledged that a simultaneous PC and console launch would have bolstered its already impressive lineup, the lack of further marketing does not appear to be hindering anticipation.
While official gameplay footage remains scarce, the recent PC release of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition offers a glimpse into the potential visuals of its successor. Early tests, however, suggest that GTA VI may target a 30 FPS frame rate on base PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles due to CPU limitations.
