**Salem/Namakkal, May 1, 2025** – Grama Sabha meetings across Salem and Namakkal districts in Tamil Nadu saw the distribution of over ₹71.52 lakh in welfare assistance to 212 beneficiaries on Thursday. In Namakkal, District Collector S. Uma presided over a meeting in Senkarai, Kolli Hills, highlighting ongoing development projects. These include ₹12 crore in works under the Prosperous Region Development Scheme and the allocation of ₹3.50 crore to renovate the Semmedu Government Hospital. A six-month hemoglobinopathy screening camp is also planned for the region. In Salem, Collector R. Brindha Devi attended a Grama Sabha meeting at Athanurpatti. The meetings facilitated discussions on panchayat expenses, land ownership documents (patta), building approvals, and scheme implementation.
