The musical “Maybe Happy Ending” received numerous nominations, showcasing its prominence this season. Other notable contenders include “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” and “Glass. Kill. What If If Only. Imp.,” both accumulating multiple nominations.

The awards ceremony will take place on June 1st at NYU Skirball, hosted by Debra Messing and Tituss Burgess. All proceeds benefit the Entertainment Community Fund. Tickets are on sale now.

This year’s Drama Desk Awards, unlike previous years, feature gender-neutral acting categories, each with double the nominees, allowing for two winners per category. This reflects the Drama Desk’s commitment to inclusivity and recognizing talent regardless of gender. The awards are unique in that they are decided by a voting body comprising theater critics, journalists, editors, and publishers.

The full list of nominees includes a wide array of plays and musicals, spanning various genres and styles. The nominations showcase the vibrant and diverse landscape of New York theater in the 2024-2025 season.
