CHENNAI, INDIA (May 1, 2025) – A new traffic plan has been implemented at Chennai Central Railway Station to alleviate persistent congestion. Following a coordination meeting on Tuesday, representatives from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and major cab aggregators (Ola, Uber, Fast Track, Namma Yatri, Rapido, and Red Taxi) agreed on designated pick-up and drop-off points. These new locations aim to streamline vehicular movement and prevent disruptions.
The plan includes three designated pickup points and one drop-off point, clearly marked to guide drivers. The RPF emphasized strict adherence to traffic rules and warned of fines for violations, particularly for drivers soliciting passengers inside the station premises. The RPF will continue its efforts to manage traffic flow, working in collaboration with city traffic police, particularly during peak hours. All participating cab companies pledged their cooperation in implementing the new regulations.
