**Mumbai, April 30, 2024** – Several banks across India will be closed on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, in observance of Labour Day (May Day) and Maharashtra Day, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The closures affect specific cities, including Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, and Thiruvananthapuram.

May Day commemorates the international labour movement, while Maharashtra Day marks the formation of the state of Maharashtra in 1960.
