Thu May 01 11:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Two New 7-Seater SUVs Set to Shake Up Indian Market in May
**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Indian automotive market is bracing for a major shake-up in the 7-seater SUV segment next month. Two all-new models, one from Kia and another from MG, are poised to challenge the dominance of the Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV700.
Kia will debut its new 7-seater on May 8th, 2025. While rumors suggest it’s a Carens-based MPV, Kia confirms it will be a distinct model positioned above the Carens, with a unique nameplate. Spy shots reveal a design inspired by the Kia Syros, featuring a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and potentially similar powertrain options to the Carens (1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo diesel).
MG will counter with the Majestor, a more premium offering based on the Gloster but sporting a completely different design. Already unveiled globally as the Maxus LDV D90, the Majestor will feature distinct headlamp and taillight designs, larger alloy wheels, and a redesigned interior with a larger touchscreen and updated features. Engine options are expected to include the 2.2-litre diesel (161 bhp and 373 Nm) and a more powerful 2.2-litre bi-turbo diesel (215 bhp and 478 Nm), both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Both launches promise increased competition and exciting new options for Indian consumers seeking spacious 7-seater vehicles.
