Thu May 01 06:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Couple Plunges to Death from Bryce Canyon Lookout Point

**Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah –** A man and a woman died after falling approximately 380 feet from Inspiration Point, a popular overlook at Bryce Canyon National Park, authorities confirmed Tuesday. Their bodies were discovered by tourists at the base of the cliff.

The victims were identified as Matthew Nannen, 45, and Bailee Crane, 58, both reportedly residing in a U-Haul truck and with a last known address in Florida. Garfield County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Wade Mathews stated that the pair appeared to have climbed over the safety railing at Inspiration Point. While the exact circumstances and timeframe of the fall remain unclear, authorities believe the deaths likely occurred late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Recovery efforts involved the use of a helicopter. Recent snowfall at the cliff top is suspected to have contributed to hazardous conditions. Inspiration Point, known for its stunning views of the hoodoo rock formations, is a highly visited location along the Rim Trail.

The National Park Service has yet to comment on the incident. The investigation into the cause of the falls is ongoing.
