**Bengaluru, May 1, 2025** – A 17-year-old boy was killed and his 16-year-old friend injured in a hit-and-run accident in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The two were riding a motorcycle to work when they were struck by a speeding milk tanker driven by an intoxicated driver at the BHEL underpass in Sadashivanagar.
Harsha, the deceased, was a resident of Srirampura and worked at a jewellery store on BEL Road. He and his friend, Sachin, were on their way to work around 6:30 am when the accident occurred. Police have arrested the tanker driver, Nagesh, who is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and in a reckless manner. Harsha was pronounced dead at MS Ramaiah Hospital, while Sachin sustained injuries but is reportedly stable. Nagesh faces charges of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving. The tanker has been seized.
