Thu May 01 07:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Prepares Schoolchildren for Potential War with India
**Muzaffarabad, Pakistan –** Amidst rising tensions with India, Pakistan has initiated a controversial program training schoolchildren in first aid and emergency procedures, ostensibly to prepare them for a potential war. Reports indicate that playgrounds in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK) have been converted into makeshift first-aid training centers.
Students are reportedly being taught how to escape buildings, use inflatable evacuation slides, and transport injured individuals. Authorities claim the training is a necessary precaution, with one official stating that schools are often the first targets in emergencies. The training has already reached 13 schools in Muzaffarabad, the largest city in PoK, with plans to expand to schools closer to the Line of Control (LoC).
Students participating in the training described learning basic first aid, fire safety, and casualty care. The initiative comes as residents near the LoC, fearing escalating conflict, are reinforcing existing bunkers.
The heightened tension follows a recent terrorist attack in Pulwama, India, which has led to heightened military activity on both sides of the LoC. India has responded strongly to the attack, prompting escalating border skirmishes. This, coupled with recent statements from Pakistani officials warning of an imminent large-scale Indian attack, appears to be the driving force behind Pakistan’s decision to train its children in wartime preparedness. The escalating situation has left residents of PoK living in a state of constant fear, especially for the safety of their children.
