Thu May 01 07:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Again, Provoking Fresh Tensions with India

**Jammu, May 1, 2024** – Pakistan’s military has once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), triggering a fresh round of cross-border firing with India. The latest incident occurred late Wednesday night, with Pakistani forces using small arms to target Indian positions in the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors. The Indian Army responded swiftly and effectively, according to an official statement.

This marks the latest in a series of ceasefire violations by Pakistan following a recent terrorist attack in Pulwama. On Tuesday, Indian military officials issued a warning to their Pakistani counterparts via the hotline, urging an end to the escalating aggression. Despite this warning, and a reaffirmation of the 2003 ceasefire agreement on February 25th, 2021, Pakistan has continued its provocative actions. Previous violations occurred on April 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th, prompting retaliatory responses from the Indian Army.

The repeated ceasefire violations have forced residents in border villages to seek refuge in underground bunkers, known locally as “Modi bunkers,” built to withstand cross-border firing. The heightened tensions underscore the fragile peace along the LoC and raise concerns about further escalation.
