**DHARMAPURI, Tamil Nadu, April 30, 2025** – V. Vijaya Prabhakaran, son of the late DMDK founder Vijayakant, has been appointed as the youth wing secretary of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party. The announcement was made on Wednesday at a meeting of the party’s general council and executive committee in Vellisandai, Palacode.

Prabhakaran, who unsuccessfully contested the Virudhunagar Lok Sabha constituency in last year’s elections, will now lead the party’s youth wing. Party leader and general secretary Premalatha Vijayakant announced the appointment and called for party-wide support for Prabhakaran’s leadership.
