Wed Apr 30 08:20:51 UTC 2025: ## Hubballi to Host “Karavali Utsava,” Showcasing Coastal Karnataka’s Culture
**Hubballi, Karnataka, April 30, 2025** – The cities of Hubballi and Dharwad are set to experience the vibrant culture and cuisine of coastal Karnataka from May 1st to 3rd with the inaugural “Karavali Utsava.” Organized by the Rotary Club of Hubballi Midtown and the Inner Wheel Club of Hubballi Midtown, the three-day festival will feature traditional dance performances, including “Mandarti Mahatme” and a Yakshagana episode, along with a magic show and the exhilarating “Pili (Tiger) Dance.”
The event aims to bridge the cultural gap between north and coastal Karnataka, offering residents a taste of the region’s unique heritage. Over 50 stalls will showcase local handicrafts, ready-made garments from self-help groups, and a variety of coastal Karnataka delicacies. The festival will be inaugurated by Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and district-in-charge minister Santosh Lad among other dignitaries expected to attend.
Rotary Club president Dinesh Shetty and Inner Wheel Club president Shilpa Shetty emphasized the festival’s goal of introducing the coastal region’s rich food and culture to north Karnataka. Organizers plan to make “Karavali Utsava” an annual event, involving organizations from across the coastal region. The event’s location at Kallur Layout in Hubballi was chosen due to the presidents’ coastal Karnataka origins, which fueled their initiative to bring this unique cultural experience to the region.
