Wed Apr 30 13:21:06 UTC 2025: ## Kozhikode’s Samagra Shiksha Kerala Implements Inclusive Education Initiatives Despite Funding Delays
**Kozhikode, Kerala, April 30, 2025** – The Kozhikode unit of Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK) has announced the successful implementation of numerous projects aimed at achieving universal education, despite facing financial challenges. Over the past nine years, SSK has launched initiatives focusing on language learning (Malayalam, English, Hindi, and Arabic), STEM education (through labs and science kits), and improved math skills. Efforts also include promoting reading habits, establishing school libraries, and providing home-based education for bedridden or differently-abled students.
Innovative programs like a swimming training program for visually impaired students (“Beats”) and a music troupe for differently-abled students (“Malhar”) highlight the inclusive nature of the initiatives. Furthermore, job training and placement services are provided to differently-abled graduates, and 16 autism centers offer therapeutic services. Skill development programs for upper primary students are also underway.
These achievements come despite the central government withholding ₹1,186.84 crore in funding due to the state’s non-adherence to the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) agreement. This funding delay has reportedly caused staff salary delays. Despite these obstacles, SSK officials emphasize their commitment to inclusive and quality education for all children in Kozhikode.
