Wed Apr 30 15:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Falcons Fined $350,000 for Draft Day Prank Call

**Atlanta, GA** – The NFL has levied significant fines against the Atlanta Falcons and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich following a prank call made to NFL Draft prospect Shedeur Sanders. The league fined the team $250,000 and Ulbrich $100,000 for failing to prevent the disclosure of confidential draft information.

The prank call, made by Ulbrich’s 21-year-old son, Jax, impersonated New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Jax obtained the contact information from his father’s iPad while visiting his parents’ home. He subsequently contacted Sanders, delaying the announcement of his selection and causing a disruption during the draft.

Jax Ulbrich has publicly apologized for his actions on Instagram, calling them “completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful.” He stated that Sanders had since accepted his apology.

Shedeur Sanders, while acknowledging the prank as “childish,” stated that it did not significantly impact him. He was ultimately drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round.

The Falcons have accepted the NFL’s penalties and stated that they are cooperating fully with the league. They emphasized their commitment to improving security protocols and that the Ulbrich family will be participating in community service initiatives.
