Wed Apr 30 08:38:39 UTC 2025: ## Mysuru Students’ Eco-Friendly Cooking Innovation Wins National Funding

**Mysuru, Karnataka, April 30, 2025** – Two tenth-grade students from Mysuru, Shruthakeerthi V. and Aditi V., have secured government funding for their innovative cooking solution, Agnipath, designed to help street food vendors. Their project, which beat out nearly 100,000 entries in the School Innovation Marathon (SIM), won a grant of ₹82,221 from the Ministry of Education.

Agnipath is a flame guide system for gas stoves that improves fuel efficiency and reduces environmental impact. The students, mentored by Gopinath Subramaniam of Excelsoft Technologies, developed the system after researching the challenges faced by street vendors, including high fuel costs (up to 20% of their earnings) and inefficient stove designs. Agnipath’s design optimizes flame distribution and minimizes heat loss, resulting in a 13.6% gas saving in testing.

The funding will allow the students to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), conduct further testing, and launch Agnipath commercially within the next 12-14 months. They plan to release two variants priced at ₹5,000 and ₹7,000 by August 2026, targeting sales through vendor networks, retail channels, and online platforms like Amazon.

Excel Public School (EPS), where the students attend, lauded their achievement. The school’s chairman, D. Sudhanva, highlighted their commitment to fostering student-led innovation, aiming to establish Mysuru as a hub for such initiatives. The Ministry of Education is expected to provide further incubation support and mentorship.
