Mangaluru, India (April 30, 2025) – Indian Member of Parliament (MP) Capt. Brijesh Chowta met with Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, to discuss enhancing technological cooperation between Israel and Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka. The focus is on leveraging Israeli expertise to modernize agriculture, aquaculture, education, and water management in the region.
Chowta highlighted Dakshina Kannada’s potential, emphasizing its strong agricultural sector producing export crops like arecanut, cashew, coconut, and rubber. He proposed integrating Israeli agricultural technology into the district’s ecosystem, aiming to empower farmers and youth through innovative technologies. Specific proposals include visits from Israeli agri-tech companies, the introduction of robotics, drones, and AI-based farm management systems, and the adoption of Israeli water management techniques. Expanding coffee cultivation as a new export crop was also discussed.
