**Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, April 30, 2025** – A 50-year-old unemployed man, F. Ani Powlraj, was arrested on the outskirts of Tiruchi city for possessing and circulating counterfeit ₹500 notes. A special team from the Tiruchi Rural police apprehended Powlraj based on intelligence regarding counterfeit currency in the area.
The police seized numerous fake ₹500 notes, a color printer, ink bottles, and a mobile phone from Powlraj’s possession. According to police, Powlraj, a resident of Alavandhan Nallur, was printing and distributing the counterfeit notes to fund a lavish lifestyle. He was apprehended while riding his motorcycle, with some counterfeit notes found on his person. A case has been registered against him at the Somarasampet police station.
