Wed Apr 30 16:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Lorde Announces New Album “Virgin,” Set for June Release

**NEW YORK, NY** – Grammy-winning artist Lorde has announced her fourth studio album, “Virgin,” set to drop on June 27th via Republic Records. The announcement follows the recent release of the lead single, “What Was That,” a collaboration with Jim-E Stack, Daniel Nigro, and others.

“Virgin,” produced primarily by Lorde and Jim-E Stack, features 11 tracks with additional contributions from a range of collaborators including Daniel Nigro, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, Buddy Ross, and Devonté Hynes of Blood Orange. Spike Stent and Tom Elmhirst handled mixing duties, while Chris Gehringer mastered the album.

In a message to fans, Lorde described the album as “full transparency,” with a “plain and unsentimental” approach. She explained that the album was a deeply personal project, aiming to “see myself, all the way through,” and to reflect her femininity in all its complexities. She expressed both pride and apprehension about the album’s vulnerability.

The album follows Lorde’s 2021 release, “Solar Power,” which was subsequently accompanied by a series of music videos and a Māori-language EP. Since then, Lorde has remained active, participating in podcasts, launching a radio station, and collaborating with artists such as Charli XCX and Marlon Williams. The cover art for “Virgin” was also released alongside the announcement.
