**HYDERABAD, INDIA (April 30, 2025)** – Lohiya Group inaugurated a new state-of-the-art biscuit manufacturing facility in Medchal, Telangana today, marking a significant investment in the region’s economy. The ₹300 crore (approximately $36 million USD) plant, which spans seven acres, is expected to generate 6,000 jobs over the next four years.
The high-speed automated facility boasts an initial production capacity of 1,000 tonnes of biscuits per month, with the potential to scale up to 5,000 tonnes through modular expansion. The company highlighted its commitment to local sourcing of ingredients, including flour, sugar, jaggery, honey, and dairy products. A focus on women’s employment is also a key feature, with over 40% of the current workforce comprised of women.
Lohiya Confectionery Managing Director Manisha Lohiya Lahoti emphasized the use of high-quality ingredients, intricate designs, and advanced biotechnology in the manufacturing process. The Lohiya Group, with existing operations across several Indian states, plans to begin exporting its biscuits in the near future.
Group Managing Director Mahaveer Lohiya stated that the plant represents a model for responsible food manufacturing, combining technological precision with a commitment to positive social impact. The 6,000 jobs will include 2,000 on-site positions and 4,000 additional jobs across the supply and distribution chain. The plant’s opening is seen as a significant boost to the local economy.
