Wed Apr 30 00:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Violates Ceasefire, Exchanges Fire with India Along LOC and IB

**Jammu, May 1:** Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated further after the recent Pahalgam terror attack, with Pakistani forces continuing their cross-border shelling for a sixth consecutive day. The violations included ceasefire breaches along both the Line of Control (LOC) and the International Border (IB).

According to officials, Pakistani forces opened fire in multiple sectors across four border districts in Jammu and Kashmir on April 29-30. The affected areas include the Paragwal sector along the IB in Jammu district, and the Sundarbani and Nowshera sectors in Rajouri district. Similar incidents were also reported in Baramulla and Kupwara districts. Indian forces effectively retaliated to the attacks, officials confirmed.

These escalating tensions follow the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people. In response to the attack, India has taken strong diplomatic measures, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and ordering the immediate departure of Pakistani nationals. Pakistan, in turn, has reportedly announced its intention to disregard the Simla Agreement and other bilateral agreements, and has also stated it will bar Indian aircraft from its airspace.
