Tue Apr 29 09:21:13 UTC 2025: ## India Condemns Pakistan’s Admission of Terrorist Support at UN Event

**New York, April 29, 2025** – India strongly condemned Pakistan’s admission of supporting terrorist organizations, calling it a confirmation of its status as a “rogue state.” The statement came from India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Yojna Patel, during the launch of the Victims of Terrorism Association Network (VoTAN) in New York.

Patel’s rebuke followed a recent Sky News interview where Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif acknowledged his country’s decades-long support for terrorist groups. Patel declared this confession exposed Pakistan’s role in fueling global terrorism and destabilizing the region. She further dismissed Pakistan’s attempts to deflect blame at the VoTAN event, calling them baseless propaganda.

India also highlighted the international community’s condemnation of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the global consensus against terrorism. Patel noted that the attack, representing the highest civilian casualty count since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, received unequivocal support and solidarity from global leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

India welcomed the establishment of VoTAN, emphasizing its crucial role in supporting victims of terrorism and strengthening the global response to this threat. The event featured testimonies from survivors of various terror attacks, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and the 2016 Brussels airport bombing. VoTAN aims to provide a platform for victims to share their experiences, advocate for their rights, and contribute to peacebuilding efforts.
