Wed Apr 30 04:20:00 UTC 2025: ## NHL Announces Vezina Trophy Finalists: Hellebuyck, Kuemper, and Vasilevskiy Vie for Top Goalie Honors
**NEW YORK** – The National Hockey League announced the three finalists for the prestigious Vezina Trophy on Monday, recognizing the league’s top goaltender as voted by NHL general managers. Winnipeg Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck, Los Angeles Kings’ Darcy Kuemper, and Tampa Bay Lightning’s Andrei Vasilevskiy will compete for the coveted award.
Hellebuyck, a five-time finalist and winner in 2019-20 and 2022-23, had a stellar season, leading the league in wins (47) and goals-against average (2.00) while also recording eight shutouts. His performance was instrumental in the Jets’ Presidents’ Trophy win. He also secured the William M. Jennings Trophy for allowing the fewest goals in the league.
Kuemper, a first-time finalist, delivered a strong campaign for the Kings, finishing second in GAA (2.02) and third in save percentage (.922). He expressed gratitude to his teammates and coaching staff for their contributions to his success.
Vasilevskiy, a five-time finalist and 2018-19 Vezina winner, posted impressive numbers, including 38 wins and a .921 save percentage. His consistent performance helped the Lightning secure their eighth consecutive playoff berth. Lightning coach Jon Cooper lauded Vasilevskiy’s achievements, calling his nomination a “no-brainer.”
The winner will be revealed at a later date. The announcement of the Vezina Trophy winner follows the unveiling of finalists for other major awards, including the Norris Trophy for best defenseman, announced on Tuesday.
