Wed Apr 30 08:46:25 UTC 2025: ## Former Gram Panchayat President Murdered in Karnataka
**Hubballi, Karnataka –** A former gram panchayat president, Shankarayya Panchayya Mathapati, was fatally stabbed outside his residence in Kotur village, Dharwad taluk, on April 29th, police confirmed. Mathapati, who had been out on bail in connection with the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha vice-president Praveen Kammar, was attacked by two men on a motorcycle.
The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred after Mathapati attended a court hearing. He succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. Police sources suggest the murder was an act of revenge.
Mathapati’s family accuses Deepak Kammar, brother of the victim in the previous murder case, and his associate Nagu, of the crime. Garag police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
