Wed Apr 30 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Zipline Operator’s Family Denies Involvement in Pahalgam Attack

**SRINAGAR, INDIA –** The family of a zipline operator detained in connection with the deadly Pahalgam terror attack is vehemently denying any wrongdoing. Abdul Aziz, father of the accused, Muzamil, claims his son was terrified and crying after the incident, and that the phrase “Allahu Akbar,” allegedly shouted by Muzamil according to one eyewitness, was simply a common religious exclamation.

The controversy stems from a viral video showing Gujarat tourist Rishi Bhatt ziplining during the attack. Bhatt alleges the operator shouted “Allahu Akbar” three times immediately before the firing began, fueling suspicion. Bhatt, who escaped the attack with his family, described seeing several people shot and subsequently hiding to avoid becoming a target.

However, Muzamil’s father insists his son was merely doing his job and had no involvement in the attack. He stated that Muzamil’s utterance of “Allahu Akbar” was not suspicious, comparing it to saying the phrase during a storm.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari has called for a thorough investigation into the incident, highlighting the lack of security at the site despite the large number of tourists present. The attack, which occurred on April 22nd at the Baisaran meadow, resulted in the deaths of 26 people and left numerous others injured. The government has vowed to bring those responsible to justice. Muzamil is currently in police custody.
