Wed Apr 30 05:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Dodgers’ Gonsolin to Return to Mound After 20-Month Hiatus

**LOS ANGELES –** After a 20-month absence, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin is set to return to the major league roster. Manager Dave Roberts announced Saturday that Gonsolin will make his first start since August 2023 against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday.

Gonsolin’s last appearance was a rough one, giving up 10 earned runs in a short outing. Subsequent diagnosis revealed an arm issue that ultimately required season-ending Tommy John surgery. While he attempted a comeback last September, he wasn’t activated for the postseason. This spring, back tightness landed him on the 15-day injured list.

However, after a successful four-start rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City (1-1, 3.21 ERA), Gonsolin is ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ rotation. His return comes at a crucial time, as the team is currently without left-hander Blake Snell due to shoulder inflammation. Gonsolin’s performance will be key as the Dodgers navigate their pitching staff.
