Wed Apr 30 16:58:31 UTC 2025: ## India-Pakistan Ceasefire Violated for Fifth Straight Day

**Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir –** Ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir continued for a fifth consecutive day on April 30, 2025, according to Indian military sources. Small arms fire was initiated by Pakistan Army posts in multiple sectors, prompting retaliatory action from Indian troops.

The clashes, which began after a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22nd, spread from the LoC in the Jammu region (Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors) to the IB in the Pargwal sector. Similar unprovoked firing was also reported in the Kashmir Valley’s Baramulla and Kupwara districts. An Indian Army spokesperson confirmed that Indian troops responded proportionally.

Despite the escalating tensions, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan held a scheduled hotline conversation on April 29th. While details remain limited, Indian officials confirmed that India warned Pakistan against the repeated ceasefire violations. The 2003 ceasefire agreement, largely upheld until the recent Pahalgam attack, is now severely strained. The current situation raises concerns about the fragile peace along the LoC and IB.
