Wed Apr 30 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## CBS Delays Premiere of Matthew Gray Gubler’s “Einstein” to 2026-27 Season

**Los Angeles, CA** – CBS has announced a scheduling shift for its newly ordered procedural drama, *Einstein*. The series, starring Matthew Gray Gubler as the great-grandson of Albert Einstein, will no longer premiere in the 2025-26 television season as initially planned. Due to scheduling conflicts, the network has pushed the show’s debut back to the 2026-27 season.

*Einstein*, which received a series order just a week ago, was one of two new series ordered by CBS. The other, a workplace comedy titled *DMV*, remains on track for the 2025-26 season. CBS’s fall lineup will also include three other new dramas: *Boston Blue* (a *Blue Bloods* spinoff), *CIA* (set in the same universe as *FBI*), and *Sheriff Country* (a *Fire Country* spinoff). The network has also renewed a dozen scripted series and will feature returning reality staples *Survivor* and *The Amazing Race*, along with a new music competition, *The Road*.

Based on a German series, *Einstein* follows Lewis Einstein (Gubler), a brilliant but troubled Princeton professor who finds himself assisting a detective (Rosa Salazar) in solving complex crimes. The show is produced by CBS Studios and created by Andy Breckman (*Monk*).

CBS will officially unveil its 2025-26 schedule on May 7th.
