**Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh:** A young woman’s dreams of a new life with her husband were tragically cut short after a fatal choking accident. Kalyanapula Ramadurga (28), from Kesanakurru in East Godavari district, died on Monday evening after her chunni (a long scarf) became entangled in the rear wheel of the motorcycle she was riding with her husband.
Ramadurga and her husband, Vinnakota Mohan Krishna, from Polavaram in Konaseema district, had recently moved to Anakapalli after Mohan Krishna secured a job at the SEZ. They were on their way to the hospital at around 7 pm on Monday because Ramadurga was experiencing ear pain. While riding near Haripalem, her chunni got caught in the motorcycle’s rear wheel, wrapping around her neck.
Passersby noticed Ramadurga struggling to breathe and immediately cut the chunni. She was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The incident has left her family devastated; her parents lamented the loss just nine months after their daughter’s marriage.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
